Erin K Schaefer (she/her) is a clinical social worker and certified eating disorder specialist with experience treating adults including college and graduate students with a variety of personal and professional challenges including adjustment issues, trauma, alcohol misuse, life stress, anxiety, relationship stress, intrusive thoughts, compulsions and disordered eating.

 

Prior to opening her private practice, Erin trained and worked in various settings including eating disorder treatment facilities, mental health treatment facilities, universities and medical hospitals. She previously served as an adjunct faculty member at the Boston College School of Social Work and the Simmons University School of Social Work teaching coursework on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy in Clinical Practice, Social Work Assessment and Treatment of Eating Disorders and Clinical Practice with Adults: Assessment, Interventions and Evidence Based Practice.

 

A graduate of Smith College (AB) and Boston College School of Social Work (MSW), Erin's style is direct, interactive and supportive. 

 

Erin is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the Multiservice Eating Disorder Association (MEDA), the Association of Size Diversity and Health (ASDAH) and iaedp, the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals.
